Roseville Theatre Arts Academy received 13 Elly Awards nominations in its first year of operations.

The Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance announced the 2010-11 nominations on Aug. 21. The awards honor outstanding achievements of community theaters and artists in the Sacramento area. Elly Awards are named for the late Eleanor McClatchy, who was a devoted patron of the local arts.

Roseville Theatre Arts Academy is a nonprofit organization formed in January and dedicated to fostering the local performing arts scene. Programs include children’s workshops, a “Master’s Series” for more experienced actors, a community choir and one-day seminars.

The 29th annual Elly Awards ceremony takes place Sunday, Sept. 25, at Crest Theatre, 1013 K St. in Sacramento. For more information, call the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance at (916) 443-8229 or visit www.sarta.com.
