Roseville's Diamond Creek Elementary to hold golf tourney

Biletnikoff, Oxley Junior Memorial, Redding Memorial, Napear FUTURE Foundation events also on tap

Diamond Creek Elementary School in Roseville will act as host for its first golf tournament on Friday, June 8, at Morgan Creek Golf Club.

The format is a four-person scramble, and proceeds will go toward improving technology at the school.

Cost for individual players is $100, which includes a party at the 19th hole (dinner, silent auction, raffle prizes and dancing) starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the party only cost $30. Registration is at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Corporate sponsorships are available from $100 to $750.

Youth lacrosse clinic in Granite Bay

Granite Bay Youth Lacrosse will hold a clinic for new players from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. The clinic is for kids entering second through seventh grades. Cost is $25 and includes a lacrosse stick and ball the kids can take home.

Biletnikoff Golf Classic set for June 4 in Lincoln

A few foursomes remain available for the eighth annual Fred Biletnikoff Hall of Fame Golf Classic on Monday at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.

The tournament is played in memory of Biletnikoff’s late daughter, Tracey, and benefits several causes in the Sacramento and East Bay areas, including Kids First in Placer County, the Dacia Biletnikoff Dance Scholarship, youth sports programs, a STAND safe house for domestic violence victims and more.

The event features many current and former professional athletes, including Biletnikoff, Ted Hendricks, Mel Renfro, Tim Brown, Cliff Branch, Ben Davidson and several more.

The tournament includes a $5,000 putting contest, $25,000 hole-in-one contest, four $100,000 shootouts, tee prizes, dinner, entertainment and more.

A Gridiron Greats Autograph Show is scheduled from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, 1151 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville, followed by “Take A Stand — Be Forever Inspired,” an event that includes inspirational speeches by Biletnikoff and Brown, from 5-7 p.m. at Granite Bay High School.

45th annual David Oxley Junior Memorial golf tourney

The Roseville Golf Club will hold the 45th annual David Oxley Junior Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, June 11, at Diamond Oaks Golf Course.

The tournament begins at 9 a.m. Entry fees are $25 for girls and boys ages 12-17 playing 18 holes and $15 for girls and boys ages 8-11 playing nine holes. Deadline for entries is May 14.

Matt Redding golf tournament set for June 18

The seventh annual Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Monday, June 18, at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin.

Cost is $135 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, barbecue lunch and awards dinner featuring a raffle and silent auction. Dinner only is $35 per person.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.

All proceeds go to the nonprofit Matt Redding Foundation, which supports education in protective services and provides financial support to graduating seniors at Del Oro, Whitney and Rocklin high schools. It also provides scholarships to Sierra College and William Jessup University.

Grant Napear tournament for FUTURE Foundation

Sacramento Kings announcer Grant Napear is the main sponsor for a golf tournament fundraiser Monday, July 23, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.

Grant Napear’s Fairway to the Future Golf Tournament benefits the FUTURE Foundation, which provides mentorship and scholarships to underprivileged high school students, according to a news release.
