Scheduled Sierra Foothill League matches and rain makeups forced Roseville High School’s tennis team to play four times last week.

The Tigers defeated Woodcreek 6-3 and Nevada Union 7-2 and then lost to Del Oro 8-1 and Rocklin 7-2.

Roseville coach Donny Nush said his team was “a little fatigued from a lot of tennis” by the time it faced Rocklin on Friday.

Woodcreek No. 1 Jan Arendain defeated Roseville’s Dallas Guerrero 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to highlight that match. Against Nevada Union, Roseville No. 2 Kevin Tran won 7-5, 6-2, and No. 3 Monroe Chabrier won 6-1, 6-4.

On Thursday at Del Oro, No. 2 Sean Flynn recorded Roseville’s only point with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in what Nush described as his most impressive match of the season. The Golden Eagles were coming off a 5-4 victory over Granite Bay.

Against Rocklin, the Tigers lost two three-set matches and were missing a player. Jack Chien won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Chase Abel and John Thompson came back to win 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
