Roseville High School senior softball player Savannah McMillin signed a national letter of intent with Valley City State University, according to coach Chad Slyter at the North Dakota school. McMillin, a catcher/outfielder, hit .312 for the Tigers last season and hit safely in 15 of the 22 games in which she played. She had just five strikeouts in 69 plate appearances and committed only one error in 46 chances. This season will be her fourth with the Roseville varsity. McMillin’s batting average over two summers in club softball is .543, according to a Valley City State news release. “I saw Savannah in Las Vegas and knew right away she was the kind of player we want at VCSU,” Slyter said. “She has great pop off her bat, is vocal on the field and plays the game the right way. The VCSU community can look for great things from Savannah in a Viking uniform.”
