Roseville school hosts parenting seminar

‘Love and Logic’ workshop helps parents answer day-to-day frustrations
-A +A

Maidu Elementary School is hosting a five-week parenting seminar called “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent,” beginning Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The classes were designed by the Colorado-based Love and Logic Institute to provide practical techniques that help parents achieve respectful and healthy relationships with their children. The seminar will be presented by Roseville City School District psychologist Kristen Baisden.

During the classes, parents will get answers to day-to-day frustrations, such as how do I get my child to stop whining and how do I break the misbehavior cycle?

They will also learn how to come up with a logical consequence in the heat of an argument, and tips for putting their child in the “thinking mode” instead of fight or flight.
