The Rotary Club of Roseville was one of three clubs in the world to recently earn the inaugural Rotary International Changemaker Award.

The award encourages Rotarians to focus on change and recognizes clubs that make an extraordinary impact in the community through their service work, according to a press release. These service activities include programs that develop youth leaders such as Rotary Youth Leadership, and Interact Clubs in high schools.

Roseville's Rotary formed in 1938 as the 547th club in the world. To win the Changemaker Award for best large club of more than 50 members, the local group competed against all 4,000 eligible chapters from the 33,000 clubs around the world.

"We are very proud of this honor bestowed upon us by Rotary International, holding our club above all others in the world as the best large club," said Roseville Rotary President Michael Reinero, in the release.

The Roseville City Council recently made a resolution commending Roseville Rotary for winning the Changemaker Award.
