Authorities are working to develop leads in a brazen armed robbery that took place Sunday morning at Carl?s Jr. on Foothills Boulevard in Roseville. Police say the crime involved gun-wielding assailants and victims being locked in the restaurant?s freezer. According to Roseville police, two men entered the fast food diner around 9 a.m., one suspect brandishing a pistol and the other a knife. There were two employees and one customer inside the business at the time. ?The victims were herded up and forced into a freezer,? said Dee Dee Gunther, of the Roseville Police Department. ?The suspects took cash from the registers and robbed the customer of his wallet and cell phone.? She said none of the victims reported being injured. Locked up and helpless, the victims were unable to see what type of vehicle the suspects drove. They did get partial physical descriptions of the two men authorities are now searching for. One suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his early 20s, with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a white hoodie. The other suspect is described as a Hispanic or black male in his early 20s, wearing a white bandana over his face and a black hoodie. The incident was over in a matter of minutes. Arriving police officers canvassed the area by the intersection of Foothills Boulevard and Main Street. Gunther confirmed that, despite the restaurant?s location near a Starbucks with an outdoor patio, there appears to be no eyewitnesses in the case beyond the victims themselves. Gunther also told the Press Tribune that no video surveillance was obtained from Carl?s Jr., though detectives are hopeful other businesses within the park may have outdoor cameras that caught a glimpse of the suspects. ?Thankfully, this is a pretty unusual type of crime for Roseville,? she said. ?We have robberies, but a take-over situation where victims are held at gunpoint is pretty rare.?
