Roseville Police officers arrested two men a day after they allegedly snatched a woman’s purse in a store parking lot. The victim was injured when she tried to grab her purse back from the fleeing suspects. At 5:47 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to the parking lot of Sam’s Club on Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The victim, a 51-year-old Roseville woman, was in the parking lot when a male grabbed her purse and ran to a waiting vehicle. The victim ran after the suspect and struggled to get her purse back as the purse-snatcher got into the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The victim was knocked to the ground. She was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Within the next few hours, the victim’s bank cards were used for purchases at several locations in south Sacramento. At 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, a patrolling Roseville Police officer spotted and stopped the suspects’ vehicle on Foothills Boulevard near Vineyard Road. The driver, Michael Damon Foley, 19, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, forgery, grand theft and assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail. A few hours later Roseville Police officers arrested the second suspect, Coby Masanobu Ishihara, 19, at his residence in Sacra-mento. Ishihara is being held in the Placer County Jail on suspicion of robbery, burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, forgery, grand theft, and battery. His bail is set at $50,000. “I know this was a very frightening experience for the victim, and I’m glad she was not more seriously injured. We generally recommend that victims not fight criminals over stolen property. The best thing to do in a situation like this is to get to a safe place, be observant, and give police as much information as possible,” said Roseville Police Chief Michael Blair.
