Silverado Middle School has once again been selected for the honor of the Schools to Watch-Taking Center Stage model middle school program. Months of self-evaluation and a visit by a state review team contributed to the decision by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform. “We are thrilled to have received this recognition,” said Principal Priscilla Rasanen. “Our staff and students have worked very hard in an exciting and challenging middle school program to demonstrate strong student achievement. This recognition is an affirmation of the fine work so many have done in the school, district and larger community.” Silverado Middle School is one of just of 24 model schools that have been identified statewide since 2003. – Compiled by Nathan Donato-Weinstein.
