Roseville Mayor Gina Garbolino Donates Time to Local Charity

Roseville Mayor Gina Garbolino got into the spirit of Christmas, stepping out in support of the Roseville-based Keaton Raphael Memorial. Garbolino, a member of the Keaton Raphael board of directors, helped staff the Keaton Raphael Memorial Giving Tree at the Galleria at Roseville last Wednesday and Friday. “I am passionate about helping families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer. Hearing about the struggles these families face is heartbreaking. Gifts from our Giving Tree go to support Keaton Raphael’s Family Assistance Program, which provides local families the financial and emotional support they need at this critical time,” said Garbolino. “It is an honor to serve families in our community in this way,” she added. The Giving Tree, located in the mall adjacent to Santa, is adorned with local childhood cancer patient’s pictures. Helping a child with cancer is easy. Simply select a card from the tree and make a donation in honor or memory of someone. Donors keep the Giving Cards to give to their gift recipient. Each card includes an encouraging sentiment and a notation that a gift has been made in the recipient’s honor to help a local child who is currently battling cancer. The giving tree will be at the Galleria at Roseville, 1151 Galleria Blvd, through Dec. 26. Donations can also be made on line at The Keaton Raphael Memorial is a private 501c3,not for profit organization that assists local childhood cancer patients and their families through a Patient Care Fund. The fund supports programs and services that directly impact the quality of life for the patients and their families undergoing treatment in Northern California. Family grants which are available to childhood cancer patients and their families who reside in Northern California and are being treated at an accredited institution. The goal of the program is to ease some of the financial burden by providing direct assistance and resources.
