A Roseville man died after he reportedly lost control of his boat at a reservoir near Lincoln Sunday. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Camp Far West Reservoir, located northeast of Lincoln, Sunday night after reportedly receiving numerous calls of a high-speed single boat accident. Patrol deputies responded and determined that the accident involved a solo boat operator who lost control of his vessel at high speed on the south side of the lake. The boat sank and the operator, Frank Joseph Urbancic, 53, was missing. The Placer County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol, Dive Team, and helicopter responded to the area to begin rescue operations. Deputies from the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit assisted them. Placer County Sheriff’s divers located Urbancic’s body shortly after midnight Monday. The Placer County Sheriff’s Marine Unit and Dive Teams remain at the scene of the accident Monday and are continuing attempts to recover the sunken vessel.
