Roseville man completes CHP cadet training; sent to Truckee office

James Snyder of Roseville has successfully completed California Highway Patrol cadet training, and has been assigned to duty at the CHP’s Truckee Area Office. Snyder is 1996 graduate of Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio. He also earned an associate of arts in social science from Sierra College in Rocklin. He served four years with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of specialist. Prior to joining the CHP, he was in real estate. Cadet training for Snyder included vehicle patrol, accident investigation, first aid, apprehension, and arrest of suspected violators (including those who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs), traffic control, report writing, recovery of stolen vehicles, assisting the motoring public, issuing citations, emergency scene management, and knowledge of various codes including the Vehicle Code, Penal Code and Health and Safety Code.
