Austin Dirks and Austin Ash each won by pin in the first round at 145 and 170 pounds, but Roseville High School dropped a 57-27 decision to Nevada Union in a Sierra Foothill League dual meet Wednesday night at Moeller Gym.

Jon Maroon scored a second-round pin at 138 pounds, Eduardo Ortega won via forfeit at 182, and Logan Runner earned a 6-2 decision at 132 in what Tigers coach Jeremiah Miller said was the “match of the night.”

Miller said Runner swung the momentum his way with a roll-through to defend and reverse an imminent takedown in the second round.

“His opponent had him up in the air in a double leg, and when they were about to hit the mat, Logan dove toward his opponent’s feet, flipped him over and ended up on top. It was awesome,” Miller said.
