Coming off of a strong showing in a tough loss to Bella Vista Tuesday, the Roseville High soccer team was unable to generate the energy for the second half of a back-to-back when Natomas came calling Wednesday. The Nighthawks took full advantage of every chance they received in knocking off Roseville 4-0. “When it came to possession of the ball we did pretty good,” said Roseville coach Pablo Gutierrez. “We made some costly defensive mistakes. Natomas capitalized on all their chances.” Natomas scored midway through the first half, and tallied again 10 minutes later to build a 2-0 halftime edge. Two more second half scores built the four-goal advantage. “We had many chances to score but their goalie made some really good saves,” Gutierrez said. Roseville will participate in the Del Campo tournament this weekend at Cherry Island Soccer Complex. The Tigers face El Camino at noon Friday and then get another shot at the Nighthawks at 3 p.m. Two more contests follow Saturday.
