The release party for Thomas & Plecker’s newest album, “Come and Go,” will also be the Roseville-based band’s swan song.

Or, as lead singer Derek Thomas says, their “last hurrah.” The trio will be disbanding because two members have gone their own ways after graduating from Woodcreek High School this spring. The third member is a senior at the school.

The crooner/jazz band will perform their final show at a local venue that has become a staple for them — Shady Coffee & Tea in Roseville. During the band’s heyday, they also performed twice a monthly at La Provence.

Thomas & Plecker’s first EP, “Sessions at UpRock,” was released in March. They’ve also recorded several music videos. Lead singer Derek Thomas recently sang “The National Anthem” at the start of a Sacramento Kings game.

Thomas, 18, now lives in Sacramento as part of The Temporary Contemporary Gallery’s Artist in Residency program. He and Le Vine have a new band called Music by Derek Thomas.

“We’ve all known each other since elementary school, so we’re supportive of each other even when we’re not directly working together,” Thomas said. “There is a lot of love in this band.”

Guitarist Sam Plecker, 19, attends California State University, Chico, and is taking classes in the recording arts program.

“We are all still very close, we just all have to do what we think is best for ourselves,” Plecker said. “I have no doubt we’ll play in a band again one day. We’re all best pals. I can’t imagine not coming together.”

Le Vine, 17, is busy applying for college, playing music and hanging out with friends. He said there’s no experience as great as being in a band with his best friends.

“I couldn’t be happier with what we’ve accomplished,” Le Vine said. “Over the summer, we plan on reuniting but that still isn’t set in stone. As for now, this album release will be a very refreshing performance and I am very excited to be sharing the stage with both Derek and Sam again.”
