Graduating baseball players in the area aren’t quite done with their high school careers just yet.

The inaugural Raley Field Baseball Showcase Doubleheader is scheduled for Sunday, and the 41st annual Evening Optimist Club of Sacramento All-Star Games are scheduled for Saturday, June 9, at McAuliffe Memorial Ballparks.

Austin Hagarty and Shaun Mize of Sac-Joaquin Section Division II-champion Woodcreek, Dalton Blaser of 2011 section champ Roseville and Ryan Gearing of Oakmont are scheduled to play in both events.

Blaser, Hagarty and Mize were assigned to the visitors’ dugout at Raley Field for game two at 7 p.m. They’ll be joined by Roseville pitcher Mark Reece.

Gearing will be in the home dugout for game two along with Oakmont teammate Tommy Wieser and Antelope’s Bryan Babcock and Wyatt Castro.

Oakmont catcher Logan Coggeshall is in the visitors’ dugout for game one, which begins at 1 p.m.

There were 46 high school games played at Raley Field this season, and 100 players from El Dorado to Mount Shasta and Santa Rosa were chosen for the inaugural showcase doubleheader, according to a news release.

The teams will be coached by former major leaguers from the area, including Clint Brill, Roland Office, Dion James, Greg Vaughn, Jim Barr and more. Barr is an assistant coach at Granite Bay.

At the Optimist games, the North squad for game two includes, Blaser, Gearing, Hagarty, Mize and Granite Bay’s Nick Lebeau.

Quentin Moore and Jake Sween of Valley Christian Academy and Antelope’s Babcock and Eric Sandness are on the North team for game one, which starts at 4 p.m. Game two will follow.
