Roseville 2012 event to showcase local business

Roseville business owners and entrepreneurs can network with regional business and community leaders Friday at the Roseville Chamber of Commerce?s Roseville 2012 event. Now 27 years in the running, the event is designed to provide business and industry members from throughout the region with resources and networking opportunities to grow and develop their organizations, according to Roseville Chamber CEO Wendy Gerig. The keynote speaker for this year?s event will be author and entrepreneur Peter Sims, who consults with Pixar, Cisco Systems, Google, Eli Lilly and more, sharing his strategies for business success. Sims will explain a new approach to developing breakthrough ideas to grow and improve your business, according to a statement. The event will also provide two breakout sessions focused on issues relevant to today?s business leaders. Sessions include Social Media Strategies presented by 3fold Communications, and the Next Economy, featuring a panel of experts from Valley Vision, SACTO, SARTA and The Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. A catered lunch will be served and city manager Ray Kerridge will deliver a state of the city address from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. More than 65 local businesses and nonprofit organizations will be on display at the business showcase and more than 600 business professionals are expected to attend the event this year, according to Gerig. City spokeswoman Megan Macpherson said the event showcases what is great about the city for businesses in the region. ?Roseville is a standout in the region in terms of business friendliness,? Macpherson said. ?That feeds back into the quality of life that we have.?
