Roseville’s Williams family grows with help of Placer Kids

Placer Kids is pleased to announce its November Foster Family of the Month, Michael and Michele Williams of Roseville. Michael and Michele and their daughter Alexis came to Placer Kids two years ago looking to build their family. They have now expanded their family with three boys and a girl. “The four children have grown and bloomed dramatically because of Michael and Michele’s love and care,” said Sierra Forever Families social worker Jessica Miller. “The Williams have cared for these children, providing them safety and security, meeting each of their unique needs and accessing services needed to help them reach their potential.” Michele said she is grateful for all the support she has received. “We could not have done this without everyone’s help and support. The Placer Kids support group, facilitated by Laurie Tyrrell, is a wonderful place to meet families going through the same things we were,” she said. “We came into this knowing we wanted to grow our family. After taking the foster parent education classes we really opened up to helping kids who had a reunification plan with their parents, knowing we could provide a permanent home and adopt if the reunification plan did not work out. We are very happy and are enjoying every crazy moment of our new lives.” If you, or someone you know, would be interested in learning more about becoming a Placer Kids foster family please call (888) 387-9982. Orientation for prospective foster parents is held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every month at the Placer Kids office, 11990 Heritage Oaks Place in Auburn. Call (530) 889-6794 to reserve free childcare. ~ Staff report
