A bridge in Roseville recently earned recognition as one of 23 outstanding projects of the year by the American Public Works Association's Sacramento chapter.

The Roseville/Fiddyment Land Venture's Blue Oaks Bridge over Kaseberg Creek was honored in the "Large Agency/Transportation" category, during an award luncheon on Aug. 10.

The project provides a new three-span, cast-in-place, reinforced concrete slab bridge connecting east Roseville to the rest of the community.

"The design-build partnering format provided tangible benefits for the developer, designer, contractor and the city of Roseville, allowing this project to be completed, from design through construction, in just over one year, with the bridge itself being constructed in just four week," according to a release issued by the local association chapter.

Dokken Engineering served as project consultant, and R N R Construction Inc. handled construction.
