Rocklin police have arrested a 24-year-old Rocklin man for allegedly robbing El Mariachi in August 2012.

At about 8:40 p.m. Aug. 14, Rocklin police responded to the El Mariachi Restaurant at 1240 Sunset Blvd., Suite 700, on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. It was reported that a white male believed to be in his 20s entered the business with a white handkerchief over his face. The suspect reportedly showed the employee behind the counter a black handgun that was in his waistband and demanded money. The suspect took cash and fled on foot in a northwestern direction across the shopping center's parking lot and toward the back of the Strikes Family Entertainment Center on Lonetree Boulevard.

After an extensive investigation that included the assistance of the Roseville Police Department, Justin Zinman (24 years old, of Rocklin) was arrested on Dec. 15 for the El Mariachi robbery and unrelated drug charges. Zinman was booked into the Roseville Jail and subsequently transferred to the Placer County Jail, where he is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
