The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that Rahul Verma is a National Merit finalist. Verma is one of about 8,000 students across the country who are now being considered for National Merit scholarships.
Verma, a senior at Rocklin High School, was selected based on his 2011 PSAT score. He then competed nationally with a comprehensive application, essay and recommendations from Rocklin High.
Rocklin High School Principal David Bills was enthusiastic about Verma’s National Merit award.
“We are extremely proud of Rahul Verma’s accomplishments,” he said. “Qualifying as a National Merit winner is not a surprise, as Rahul is one of Rocklin High School’s finest speakers, writers and thinkers.”
Verma is awaiting application replies from several top universities across the U.S. He plans to be an engineering major, with career plans in the areas of engineering and law.
