Kelly Roberts and Matthew Turnbull, both of Canberra, Australia, have announced their plans to marry.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nancy and Gregory Roberts of Roseville. She graduated from Oakmont High School in 2004 and graduated from Australian National University and University of Canberra in 2009 with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and drama. She graduated in 2011 with a diploma in secondary education and is currently employed as a teacher for Secondary College Lake Ginninderra.
The groom-to-be is the son of Rhonda and Mark Turnbull of Canberra, Australia. He graduated from University of Canberra in 2008 with a degree in secondary education and in 2012 with a master’s in coaching science. He is currently employed as teacher/coach of Junior National Boys Water Polo for Secondary College Lake Ginninderra.
The couple met when both were attending the University of Pacific. Matt had a scholarship to play water polo and Kelly had a scholarship to the conservatory as a vocal major. When Matt moved back to Australia to complete his education, they decided that they couldn’t live thousands of miles apart so Kelly joined him to finish her degree in psychology and drama, as well as earn a diploma in secondary education.
The couple is scheduled to marry on Oct. 6 at Haiku Mill in Maui, Hawaii.
