Road reopens following fatal crash

A man riding his bike early this morning along Blue Oaks Boulevard was killed after colliding with a pickup truck, the Roseville Police Department is reporting. Police responded to the collision at 4:19 a.m. Thursday and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released; police described him as a man in his 30s. The bicyclist and the truck were traveling eastbound on Blue Oaks, where the speed limit is 45 mph, police said. The incident remains under investigation by the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. A portion of the major roadway was closed this morning while officers investigated; Police Spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said Blue Oaks Boulevard between Del Webb Boulevard and Crocker Ranch Road was reopened by 12:30 p.m. contact the writer:
