Reader Input: These men keep city’s rates low

-A +A

I keep hearing about sewer issues in this campaign season. I pay only $726 in the City of Auburn. My son has to pay $980 a year in the county.
Auburn’s sewer treatment plant is in full compliance with all state and federal regulations and the county is not. We pay $254 less, thanks to the fine direction of our City Council.
Regional sewer? Maybe someday, when we can negotiate to have some control over our sewer rates.
But for now I encourage you to keep saving your $254 a year, and reelect to the City Council Dr. Bill Kirby and Keith Nesbitt who continue to work for the lowest sewer rates for the citizens of Auburn.
