Reader Input: Should get a rate decrease

-A +A

Didn’t Roseville Electric recently raise rates 18 percent divided into three 6 percent jumps? This was at a time when natural gas prices were at a 10-year low? Roseville Electric is a natural gas fired utility. We should be given a rate decrease or a rebate!

I am amazed that we hire a consultant to tell us what our costs are? Based on past history, owning our own utility may not have been the smartest move. Over the past 11 years I’ve seen my Roseville Utility bills more than double while natural gas prices declined and city growth hasn’t skyrocketed.

To base a rate increase on the legislature’s action is a stretch.
