In 1972 I was hired by William Scott to be a deputy sheriff for the county of Placer. I can remember the day when he handed me that Placer County badge. He left you with the impression that you never wanted to let the people of Placer County down. Bill Scott was a professional. He demanded the best out of everyone who served under him.
When he retired I would see him at times as the years rolled by. He was always friendly with a smile on his face and a handshake that said you are still a law enforcement officer and much is expected of you. I never wanted to let that man down. Rest in peace Bill.
