Reader Input: Logic check

-A +A

Someone please explain to me the intelligence of the US Congress.

If you are law-abiding, have a job, raising children, pay taxes and make a contribution to society, legislation now being considered will say that you need a background check in order to become a citizen.

However if you have a criminal record or have a mental illness, you don’t need a background check in order to buy a gun.

Does that make any sense to you?
