The city of Roseville is requesting public input on two design proposals for downtown bridge projects at a workshop Thursday, Nov. 29.
The city previously selected two design firms to craft proposals for a community-based design competition. The project consists of two new bridges and the re-use of the existing Rube Nelson “Icehouse” Bridge across Dry Creek.
The bridges are critical to creating a pedestrian and bicycle friendly environment envisioned in the Downtown Specific Plan, approved in 2009, according to the city. The design proposals are available on the city’s website or at viewing stations in the Roseville Civic Center and Downtown Roseville Library.
Public comments on the design proposals will be received until Thursday, Dec. 6. A selection committee appointed by the Roseville City Council will evaluate and rank the proposals based partly on input from staff and public. The committee’s recommendation will be submitted to the council who will vote on the final selection.
