Roseville police officers launched a crime suppression operation this morning, arresting 18 people between four locations in just over five hours — recovering methamphetamine, heroin, stolen property and burglar’s tools.

Roseville Police Sgt. Karl Dyer ran the operation and told The Press Tribune coordinated probation and parole monitoring sweeps were one strategy the department had for trying to combat property crimes affecting residents.

The sweep deployed before 9 a.m. The first stop was at the Heritage Inn on Harding Boulevard, where two men and a woman were taken into custody:

-John Villarreal, 27, of Roseville was arrested for possession of burglar’s tools, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin.

-Dean Sankey, 31, of Roseville was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of stolen property.

- Marisa Villalpando, 26, of Roseville was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of stolen property.

The police department’s special detail then split into two teams, one conducting a parole check at a small house on the 100 block of B Street while the other conducted a probation check on the 200 block of B Street.

Officers going to the house at the 100 block of B Street positioned themselves at a back window to cut off an escape route to the alley as other officers contacted the parolee at the front door. After a search was conducted, three men and four women were arrested:

- Adam Sanchez, 31, of Roseville was arrested on charges of violation of parole, obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.

- Anna Mendosa, 40, of Roseville was arrested on charges of concealing evidence and smuggling a controlled substance into jail.

- Carol Puentes, 45, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possessing a crystal meth pipe.

- Alyssa Vizcarra, 19, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possessing a crystal meth pipe.

- Jesus Valenzuela, 44, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possessing a crystal meth pipe.

- Steve Gutierrez, 28, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possessing a crystal meth pipe.

- Korenna Gutierrez, 22, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possessing a crystal meth pipe.

Officers who headed to the house on the 200 block of B Street also conducted a search, arresting one man and three women:

- Angelica Garcia, 27, of Roseville was arrested on a no bail warrant and on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

- Angelo Anthony, 34, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

- Angela McCurdy, 44, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

- Angeyna Celio, 22, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Around 1 p.m., a group of Roseville police officers moved up the steps of the Barker Hotel on Lincoln Street in the historic district of the city. They were looking to make contact with AB 109 parolee Joshua Coleman. Officers said Coleman was on Post Release Community Supervision for possession of narcotics. After confirming that Coleman was in the hotel room and refusing to open his door, officers made a forced entry. Coleman and several individuals were detained. Searching two different rooms in the hotel, officers ultimately arrested two men and two women:

- John Muniz, 43, of Roseville was arrested on a warrant, possession of heroin and possession of known stolen property.

- Joshua Coleman, 37, of Roseville was arrested on charges of possession of black tar heroin and violation of parolee.

- Sara Myers, 22, of Roseville was arrested on possession of methamphetamine and possession of meth bong.

The Roseville Press Tribune was present during these arrests.
