Prized jersey taken during RHS break-in

Jersey autographed by Tedy Bruschi
Police are investigating a break-in at Roseville High School, which resulted in the theft of an autographed New England Patriot’s jersey signed by alum Tedy Bruschi. Police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said the break-in occurred some time between 11 p.m. Friday and 5:30 a.m. Monday. A school employee discovered the break-in, she said. Assistant principal Jon Coleman said someone smashed a weight room window and entered through it. "The individual then smashed a window into the coach's office, where the jersey was on display," Coleman said. The only thing taken was Bruschi's jersey, he said. Bruschi lettered in football, wrestling and track when he attended Roseville High School. He played for the Patiots for 13 years, earning three Superbowl rings. Coleman said he would be disappointed if the suspect or suspects were Roseville students. "I hate to think one of our students would do something like this," he said. "Mr. Bruschi is one of our most respected, honored alumni." While the police are investigating, Gunther said anyone with any information about this burglary is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at 916-783-STOP (783-7867). Callers may be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Brad Smith can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
