Plein air painter’s work displayed at Blue Line Gallery
Artist Reif Erickson’s painting “California Dreamin’” is currently on display in his one-man show “Natures Palette” at the Blue Line Gallery in Roseville.
The Washington native combines plein air with close observation, refinement of color relationships and technical expertise with pastels to depict California and southwest landscapes, according to a press release. Plein air comes from a French expression meaning “open air,” and refers to artists who paint outside.
The exhibit runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, closing Feb. 16. The 3rd Saturday Art Walk is 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Admission is free. Blue Line Gallery is located at 405 Vernon St. in Roseville. For more information, visit www.rosevillearts.org.
