Playoff field smaller for Roseville-area teams this season
The Roseville area's representation in the Sac-Joaquin Saction basketball playoffs is considerably smaller than last season.
There are just five local teams in the playoffs, which were announced Sunday, and two will play home games Wednesday when sixth-seeded Valley Christian Academy plays host to No. 11 Woodland Christian in the first round in Division V and top-seeded Antelope entertains No.16 Modesto-Downey. The VCA-Woodland Christian winner travels to No. 3 Ripon Christian on Friday.
Granite Bay is the No. 12 seed in Division I and will play at No. 5 Jesse Bethel on Wednesday with the winner playing either No. 4 Tracy-West or No. 13 Oak Ridge on Friday.
In girls brackets, Oakmont drew the No. 13 seed in Division III and will travel to Fairfield to play Vanden on Tuesday night. The winner plays either No. 5 Manteca-East Union or No. 12 Dixon on Thursday night.
In Division VI, No. 8 Valley Christian travels to No. 1 Victory Christian on Tuesday.
