The Oakmont High girls golf team made it two in a row when it won the second league-wide Sierra Foothill League golf tournament Monday at Diamond Oaks.

In an event shortened to 12 holes due to conditions at the course, the Vikings were 10 strokes better than second-place Nevada Union to take the team title. Led by individual medallist Paige Lee, Granite Bay finished third, 12 shots off the pace.

The Granite Bay freshman shot a one-under par 47 in the 12-hole par-48 competition to claim first place by five strokes over Oakmont freshman Madelin Gedeon, who fired a 52.

Oakmont placed three golfers in the top five, as Blake Peterson came in right behind Gedeon with a 53 and Nicole Holm was fifth with a 58. Granite Bay’s Kelly Steindorf joined Holm as part of a three-way tie at 58, while Woodcreek’s Dana Vasko was one shot further back with a 59.
