A company that specializes in deluxe senior homes in southern California and the Bay Area is trying its hand in Roseville, breaking ground on a facility along the rolling hills of Secret Ravine Parkway.

Construction is now underway on the project, with the company eyeing a completion date of July.

Founded in 1997, Oakmont Senior Living operates more than 30 retirement communities in the United States, with sizable locations from Santa Rosa to Palm Desert. Oakmont offers rooms and housing units that cater to different senior needs, including independent living, assisted living, memory care and respite care. The company’s newest project will be in the east side of Roseville at 1101 Secret Ravine Parkway.

Oakmont of Roseville’s Executive Director, Courtney Siegel, says what sets the company apart is the fact that it’s owned and operated by the Gallaher Family.

“Being family owned is something you just don’t find in assisted living these days,” Siegel said. “That’s something that’s really helped us push the envelope when it comes to keeping a certain kind of lifestyle for those who can’t care for themselves anymore.”

Oakmont of Roseville will be rental and lease properties that offer varying levels of care. The seniors’ neighborhood will have a physician’s office on-site, an extensive diabetes program staffed seven days a week by nurses, an on-site kitchen, a residents' garden on the grounds and pet-friendly amenities, including its own dog park.

“We’re striving to re-define the entire concept of what assisted living is all about,” Siegel said.
