Oakmont collects toiletries for homeless
The Interact Club at Oakmont High School is collecting toiletries for the local homeless population.
People can drop off unused, unopened toiletries in a bin at the front office of the school. The donations are given to The Gathering Inn. The campaign runs through Friday, Oct. 14.
Accepted items include toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, combs, brushes, washcloths and Band-Aids.
Interact Club is a community service group sponsored by the Rotary Club of Roseville that performs service events throughout the school year. The toiletries drive is an annual event held before the holidays.
“We have definitely seen a drop in the amount of donations over the past few years,” said Interact President Ian Utz. “Nevertheless, the school always pulls through and the drive is very successful.”
Oakmont High School is located at 1710 Cirby Way in Roseville.
