Nonprofits hoping to sell fireworks need to start grabbing applications

The Roseville Fire Department is ready to accept applications for nonprofit groups hoping to sell fireworks this summer.

The city will give the green light to two charitable organizations this year, and applications to be in the running must be turned in by March 1 at 5 p.m.

Roseville officials stressed the licenses to sell will only be awarded to “qualified local nonprofits” that are organized for veteran, patriotic, welfare, civil betterment or charitable purposes. Nonprofits must also have more than 20 members and have been in existence in Roseville for over a year. The fire department said if it receives more than two qualified applications, it will hold a lottery drawing to determine the winner on March 13 at 10 a.m.

Application packets are available at the Roseville Fire Department Administration Office at 401 Oak St. In the event of a lottery situation, the drawing will be held at that location.
