Dear readers — I must inform you that I am taking a new job.
But don’t worry, I will return.
Any day now, I’ll be assuming the title of “Mommy.” Job duties: Late-night feedings, diaper changes, burping — and bonding with my new baby!
While I’m out on maternity leave through mid-September, I have the great pleasure of handing the daily operations of the Press Tribune over to Interim Editor Mayra Rabé.
Rabé comes to us after more than 7 years at the Amador Ledger Dispatch, where she most recently served as editor of the weekly newspaper in Jackson. In my brief time training her, I have been impressed with her attention to detail, organization skills and positive attitude. She also has an innate understanding of community newspapers. I have great confidence that she will do a wonderful job leading our newsroom.
Rabé will be in the office part-time and will be managing my e-mails and phone calls while I’m gone. You can also drop her a line at mayrar@goldcountry
Have a wonderful summer and stay tuned for a “breaking news” announcement on the arrival of my little boy!
