Merryhill Preschool on Baseline Road in Roseville will cease operations March 15 and relocate to another facility.
Spokeswoman Kathleen Shaffer said the school couldn’t come to an agreement with the landlord of its current facility.
Shaffer reiterated that the school is not closing, although there will be some gap in between when the campus ceases operations and the new facility gets up and running, which is expected to happen by early September.
“This is very much a relocation,” Shaffer said. “We feel very horrible for the inconvenience this is causing families.”
The local preschool currently has 134 students enrolled, which includes children 6 weeks old to pre-kindergarten. Shaffer said staff will work to place these students at other Merryhill schools in the greater Sacramento area until the new location opens.
Merryhill School operates two sites in Roseville — the preschool and a pre-kindergarten through seventh grade elementary school on Sierra Gardens Drive.
In August, Merryhill Elementary School will open a new pre-kindergarten through eighth grade campus on Orlando Avenue. The existing building is undergoing a complete renovation, according to the school’s website.
Merryhill is part of the Pennsylvania-based Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., a network of more than 180 nonsectarian, private schools operated in 15 U.S. states.
