Nearly 700 runners participated in the Roseville Run for Mercy Saturday in Maidu Park raising about $60,000 for Mercy Ministries, a group for women who have been physically and sexually abused.

The free-of-charge, voluntary Christian residential program started in 1983 and assists women ages 13 to 28 who have been abused, are victims of sex trafficking or face other life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, substance abuse, depression and unplanned pregnancy.

Mercy Ministries of America has a residential home in Lincoln.
