Mavericks looking for new students

Learn to square dance with the Mavericks Square Dance Club. Classes for new students begin Sept. 9 and are open to students of all ages and abilities and meets Wednesdays at the Veterans Memorial Hall 110 Park Drive in Roseville. The yearlong classes will cover square dancing basics like the “Do-si-do,” to mainstream and more advanced steps like “Load the Boat” and “Teacup Chain.” Casual attire and comfortable footwear is recommended for class. “Keep in mind you’re moving around the whole time,” said Ruth Moore coordinator for the Mavericks Square Dance Club. “It’s all around fun. A real good time.” Classes start Sept. 9 with a free introductory class on Sept. 9th and 16th. Classes are $5 each and discounted rates are available for multiple class sessions.
