Mansch provides the fireworks at All American Speedway
By: Press Tribune sports staff
Shannon Mansch won the Toyota TRD 100 for the Late Models in Saturday night Independence Day racing at The All American Speedway. Galt’s Juan Pitta (Bill McAnally Racing) led the first lap until Zane Lovelace made the pass on the second lap. Gary Glenn took the lead on lap five. Jason Romero started sixth and grabbed second early, but Mansch was charging though. She was fourth by the fifth circuit, third by lap six, and took the lead on lap 17. Romero managed to make a pass for the lead on the 46th lap, but was quickly passed on the very next lap by Mansch, who was on a mission in this one. Jason Philpot, who has run a limited schedule at All American Speedway, returned to the track and won the 40-lap feature for the Modified division. Sacramento’s Kevin Owens, the points leader in the division, led every lap but one from the pole to win the thirty-five lap Street Stocks main event. Adam Chapman won the first main event of his career crossing the line first in the 30-lap Bombers race. Chapman was simply dominant in doing so, and the victory helped him gain the points lead for the season. Jerry Kobza won the 19-lap shortened main event for the Sprint Cars. The race ended under a yellow.
