A 20-year-old Roseville man forced a 14-year-old Roseville boy to walk five blocks to a 7-Eleven, with what the boy thought was a gun pointed at his back, police said. Justin David Purse, 20, was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted robbery. Police say Purse grabbed the boy, from Orangevale, as he was walking on Champion Oaks Drive near Decker Drive at 11:46 p.m., and shoved something against his back. Purse allegedly ordered him to walk about five blocks to the 7-Eleven at 2000 South Cirby Way and empty his pockets. At the store, Purse allowed the boy to go inside, while he remained outside. Onlookers grew suspicious and called police. Police encountered the suspect outside the store and arrested him without incident. No gun or other weapon was found on Purse, and the victim did not report being injured. Purse was being held in the Placer County Jail on $200,000 bail.
