A Roseville man died Saturday after driving the wrong way on Douglas Boulevard near Rocky Ridge Drive, according to Roseville police. A medical issue might have caused Cecil Alvin Feathers, 68, to drive his car across the median to hit eastbound traffic head-on, police said in a release. Feathers crashed his 2010 Toyota sedan into a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by a 34-year-old Sacramento man. At 12:15 p.m., the Roseville Fire Department and police responded to the crash, which shut down Douglas Boulevard between Rocky Ridge Drive and Eureka Road. Officials transported Feathers to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he later died. The other driver was taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. His 3-year-old son, who was in a child-safety seat in the back seat, was treated and released from UC Davis Medical Center, the region's pediatric trauma center. ~ Staff report
