Maidu School will receive a permanent principal on Tuesday. Stephanie Groat, principal of Dry Creek School in Roseville, is being offered the Eureka District school’s top administrator’s post. Trustees are slated to vote on the appointment at a special 9 a.m. meeting on Tuesday in the Maidu School multipurpose room, 1950 Johnson Ranch Road in Roseville. If approved, Groat will take over for Janet Schimpf, who has served as “interim” principal at Maidu since 2008. Groat has served as principal of the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District’s oldest campus for about seven years. For more on Groat, see an upcoming issue of The Press-Tribune.
