William Jessup University has reached an agreement with the City of Roseville to open its soccer season at Mahany Field in September. The university, which is located in Rocklin, will bring its men’s and women’s soccer teams for six contests during the month. The WJU women are coming off the most successful season in the school’s history, having won their first conference championship last fall. They will be returning a solid core of players and have added several new stars, including Elli Tremblay, who was a member of Roseville High’s 2009 squad that reached the section final. The men’s team has improved greatly in recent years, and should be competing near the top of the Cal Pac this season. The home season will open with a pair of double headers. On Sept. 7, Corban College of Oregon will be the opponent, with games at 1 and 3 p.m. Hope International is in town on Sept. 12, with games at 9 and 11 a.m. The women will play 3 p.m. Sept. 22 against Oregon Institute of Technology and the men will close the month against Cal Pac Rival Pacific Union College at 3 p.m. Sept. 29.
