Local fundraising tournaments for Placer County
What: Mayor?s Cup 16th Annual Golf Tournament
When: Friday, June 1
Where: Woodcreek Golf Club, Roseville
Cost: $120 per player
The city of Roseville and Woodcreek Golf Club will use a Hawaiian them to host the 16th annual Mayor?s Cup day of golfing, networking and fundraising, Jun 1.
Proceeds help provide youth scholarships and fee waiver assistance for qualifying families to participate in parks and recreation activities, such as swimming lessons, youth sports, and playground programs
Cost to play in the four-ball scramble is $120 per player, which includes green fees, cart, commemorative golf shirt, giveaway bag, lunch, drinks, on-course games and activities, and Luau awards dinner.
Check is 11 a.m., boxed lunches available at noon. Shotgun start commences at 1 p.m.

Matt Redding Memorial
What: Matt Redding Memorial 7th Annual Golf Tournament
When: Monday, June 18
Where: Whitney Oaks Golf Club, Rocklin
Cost: $135 per player/dinner only, $35
The seventh annual Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Whitney Oaks Golf Club Monday, June 18.
All proceeds go to the nonprofit, Matt Redding Foundation, which supports education in Protective Services and provides financial support each year to graduating seniors at three local high schools ? Del Oro, Whitney and Rocklin. It also provides scholarships to Sierra College and William Jessup University.
A popular Rocklin Police Officer, Matt Redding tragically died while on duty in 2005 when struck and killed by a vehicle driven by an intoxicated driver.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., and lunch is served from 10:30-11:45. The shotgun start begins at noon.
The sit-down dinner features steak and fish, au gratin potatoes, vegetable and cheesecake. The meal will be prepared by Chef Martin, who formerly worked at Carver?s Restaurant in Roseville.
The cost per player is $135, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, and barbecue lunch. Also included is the awards dinner featuring a raffle, silent auction and auctioneer. Dinner only is $35 per person.
