A full field of late models brought nearly 6,000 fans an exciting and action packed race in conjunction with the NASCAR Camping World Series-West championship event Saturday at All American Speedway. Bobby Grewohl was the winner of the event on the one-third mile oval, as the race was called in the 83rd lap after a loss of power in the tower led to race officials’ decision to call the race. It was determined that there was not sufficient time at that point in the events to re-set the field and complete the 100 laps scheduled. Eric Schmidt, who ended up starting from the back of the field twice due to a mishap, managed to end up in third place, just behind Grewhol and Jason Romero. NHRA drag racer Ron Capps finished with a solid showing, a respectable sixth-place performance in his first outing in a NASCAR Late Model race. Final order of finish: 1. Bobby Grewhohl 2. Jason Romero 3. Eric Schmidt 4. Mark Holeman 5. Jonathan Mawhinney 6. Ron Capps 7. Michael Mansch 8. Mackena Bell 9.
