The Nevada Union High baseball team used a five-run seventh stanza to break open a tie game as it beat Woodcreek 8-4 Tuesday in Roseville. Justin Smith went the distance on the bump for the Timberwolves and was victimized by six Woodcreek errors committed behind him. He yielded nine hits in the contest. Stephen Nogosek had two hits to lead the Woodcreek offense, which had eight hits in the game. Woodcreek (5-11 in the SFL, 10-15 overall) will have two more shots at Nevada Union (6-10, 13-12)as the Timberwolves travel to Grass Valley for games Wednesday and Thursday.
