Late goal gives U10 Cougars soccer victory

Bret Knudsen scored a late tiebreaking goal to give the Cougars a 3-2 victory over the Wiley Coyotes in a Roseville Youth Soccer Club under-10 match Saturday.

Knudsen had two goals, one on a penalty kick. Luke Greco scored the other goal.

Grove Domer, Parker Standard and Mason Lee played great defense for the Coyotes.

U10 girls

Lady Hawks 4, Keiki Kickers 2 — Gracie Harada and Megan Huber scored for the Kickers in their loss to the Lady Hawks. Harada and Huber also are the team’s goalkeepers.

Izzy Ronald, Maya Agnew and Jocelyn Wolfinger also played well for the Kickers.

U14 girls

Starfire 6, Eureka Lightning Storm 0 — Jessica Yanez had a hat trick to lead the Starfire over the Storm. Mary Pagel scored two goals and contributed on defense, and Camryn Franks scored a goal.

Abby Nye set up the Starfire forwards with her play in the middle of the field, and Rebecca Endres played outstanding defense.

U8 boys

Earthquakes 7, Crushers 1 — Van Anater and Alex Casselman each scored for the first time and Michael Marovich scored two goals to lift the Earthquakes.

Camden Ferro and Kaden Belton also scored. Jack Lowe created opportunities for the forwards, and Timothy Bogan played well on defense.
