Foul trouble was a huge problem for the Oakmont High girls basketball team Friday night at the Anderson Holiday Hoops tournament. Al Voigt’s crew started the game with just eight players and played most of the second half with five of those eight within one foul of disqualification. The Vikings trailed by just six at the break, 28-22, but it got away quickly in the second half as they lost to a talented Fortuna team 58-41. “Even though we got beat, I am very proud of our effort,” said Oakmont coach Al Voigt. Sabrina Ali scored 13 points to lead the way for the Vikings and Jennifer Gong chipped in with 11. Oakmont was back in action Saturday afternoon to play for the consolation championship.
